Two upcoming events give Christian students an opportunity to be public witnesses for Christ.
On Wednesday, September 25, 2019, students will observe See You at the Pole day by gathering at their schools’ flagpoles for prayer. According to SYATP.com, See You at the Pole™ “began in 1990 as a grass roots movement with ten students praying at their school. Twenty years later, millions pray on their campuses on the fourth Wednesday in September. See You at the Pole™ is simply a prayer rally where students meet at the school flagpole before school to lift up their friends, families, teachers, school, and nation to God. See You at the Pole™ is a student-initiated, student-organized, and student-led event.” In addition, the Global Week of Student Prayer schools will be held from September 22 to September 28.
Bring Your Bible to School Day is scheduled for Thursday, October 3. The Lord can use Bring Your Bible to School Day to spread the Good News to other students, and also to encourage Christian students to be bold in speaking out about their faith. Bring Your Bible to School Day is sponsored by Focus on the Family. The event website offers a wealth of helpful information, including answers to frequently asked questions; sections especially geared toward parents, teachers, and pastors; information on legal rights; and downloadable resources. It should be noted that the information on legal rights is designed for students in public schools.
