New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms is pleased to invite our friends and supporters to participate in a weekly prayer telephone call. The purpose of the weekly call is to pray for our state, our elected officials, proposed legislation, and the work of our organization. Each call will be led by a member of our staff or a designated volunteer; the leader will provide information to attendees about the status of our efforts at the Capitol and about potential prayer needs.
As we take heed to I Corinthians 14:40, which tells us to "let all things be done decently and in order," we ask participants to abide by a few guidelines during the prayer calls.
1. We ask each attendee to defer to the leader's instructions.
2. To Keep the calls to an appropriate duration, we ask each attendee to be concise in praying aloud and to limit each prayer to one minute or less.
3. We ask attendees to keep in mind that Christians from different types of churches and different political parties will participate in our prayer calls; we should be considerate of those differences.
4. Members of the Legislature and their staffs may also participate in our phone calls, and they—like all other participants—must be treated with respect.
