Pray For Orlando

Like millions of other Americans, New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms is outraged and grieved at the jihad terror attack that occurred on June 12 at an Orlando, Florida nightclub. This attack by one gunman killed 50 and wounded more than 50. The gunman—who pledged allegiance to ISIS during the attack—was killed by police following a three-hour standoff. The attack has been referred to as the deadliest terror attack on U.S. soil since Sept. 11, 2001.

PrayForOrlandoWebThis terrible news underscores the urgent need to incapacitate jihad terrorist networks, both on American soil and abroad. It also underscores the need for Americans to unite as one nation in an era of social fragmentation. Sadly, many people—including President Barack Obama and Gov. Andrew Cuomo—have used this tragedy for cheap, cynical political purposes. As Christians, our responsibility at a time like this is to love our neighbors, and to “weep with them that weep” (Romans 12:15). In the wake of the attack, Christian-owned company Chick-fil-A set a good example of putting Christian charity into action by opening their doors on Sunday to serve food to blood donors in Orlando.

Let’s keep the victims of this nightmarish experience—as well as their loved ones—in our prayers.
