Life After Roe

On Wednesday, December 1, 2021, the Supreme Court of the United States of America is scheduled to hear oral arguments in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization. This is the case the pro-life community has been waiting for. When the Court overturns the 1973 Roe v. Wade Decision, legal jurisdiction regarding abortion will revert to whatever laws were on the books prior to 1973 or that have been enacted at the state level since then. In the Empire State’s case, abortion was legal since 1970—three years prior to Roe. Tragically, due to the passage of Gov. Andrew Cuomo’s Abortion Expansion Act in 2019, when Roe is struck down, New York will continue to have unfettered abortion extremism across the state.

Sadly, Gov. Kathy Hochul has only continued that same abortion expansion spirit. She’s pledged to promote abortion access, and we anticipate that in New York an ‘abortion tourism’ industry will pop up in our state. There is no residency requirement to receive an abortion here. Organizations like Planned Parenthood, aided and abetted by Governors like Kathy Hochul, will find ways to transport women from pro-life states to New York to receive their abortions, even late-term ones.

Today, New York has a reputation as being one of the most pro-abortion states in the nation, but it doesn’t always have to be this way. By God’s grace, one day New York will be a pro-life state, and our organization is working to bring that day ever closer. If you’d like to help create a culture of life in our state—one that celebrates birth and recognizes the love of adoption—there are a few things you can do.

First, we’re fighting to defend pro-life pregnancy centers from government harassment. We encourage you to sign up to receive our weekly emails, stay informed and join this fight.

Second, 2022 is a major election year in New York. Identify pro-life candidates that you would like to support, and then do it! Periodically share their posts on social media. Attend their events. Volunteer for their campaigns—and certainly vote pro-life in November.

Third, pray for our state. Our greatest need is spiritual, not political. Abortion will become abhorrent in our state when New Yorkers agree with what God says about the atrocity. Pray that the heart of every New Yorker will be turned toward the Author of Life.

Thank you for standing with us and the cause of life.
