Buffalo Clergy Unite Against Abortion

On September 10, 2019, an estimated 100 clergy and other Christian leaders attended a pro-life forum at Mt. Olive Baptist Church in Buffalo, New York. Under the leadership of Rev. William Gillison, this event brought together pastors from various denominations and of diverse ethnicities to stand for the rights and dignity of the unborn. The purpose of the forum was “to discuss strategies on how to push back on New York’s now nationally infamous abortion expansion bill,” known as the Reproductive Health Act (RHA). This group of pro-life pastors is known as New York Pastors for Life.

New Yorkers for Constitutional Freedoms was pleased to have the opportunity to participate in the September 10 event, and in the press conference that followed. At that time, we noted that there has been a pro-life awakening in New York in response to the RHA. We also stated that “‘for too long, New York State has pitted the woman against her unborn child…[and] we’re here to [simply] ask the question, “Why can’t we love them both?”’” We believe that the Lord is pleased to see His people unite across denominational and racial lines to compassionately stand for the truth that every person—no matter how small—is made in His image and has inherent value and worth. It is our prayer that New York Pastors for Life will be effective in inspiring believers to prayerfully and compassionately defend the unborn.
